Mom's Sugar Cookies

My husbands mom is known for making sugar cookies around the holidays. We have the tradition in our family too although mine never seem to turn out as good as hers.

Ingredients:
  • 2/3 cup shortening
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 Tbsp vanilla
  • 2 cup flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 4 tsp milk
Directions: 
  1. In a mixer cream together shortening, sugar, egg and vanilla
  2. Add remaining ingredients and mix well
  3. Bake 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes 
Frosting:
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • milk to consistency

Ingredients: 2 cans evaporated milk 2 cups sugar 2 pkg kool-aid (any flavor) 2 pkg graham crackers, crushed 1 cube margarine, melted Directions: Chill canned milk in fridge Melt margarine and mix with crumbs Press 2/3 crumbs into 9x13 dish Whip chilled milk at high speed until fluffy Add sugar and kool-aid Pour over crust and top with remaining crumbs Freeze and enjoy!

Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies

These are Joe's favorite cookies and we all like them too. Instructions: 4 sticks margarine 2 cup white sugar 2 cups brown sugar 4 eggs 2 tsp vanilla 5 cup flour 4 cup quick oats 2 tsp baking soda 2 tsp baking powder 1 tsp salt 2 cups chocolate chips Directions:  In mixer add margarine, sugar, eggs and vanilla then add remaining ingredients and mix Bake 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes

Homemade Ice Cream

Ingredients: 4 cups milk 1 pint whipped cream 4 Tbsp vanilla 1 can condensed milk 1 can evaporated milk 1/3 cup sugar 1 packet of vanilla pudding Directions:  Add all ingredients into ice cream mixer.
