Iv'e tried more than a dozen banana bread recipes. I found one that I really like from the better homes and gardens cookbook but then my friend brought me some of her banana bread and that recipe was quickly replaced. This recipe freezes well too which makes it my new go to banana bread recipe.

- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 3/4 cup bananas
- 2 Tbsp sour cream
- 1 1/2 cup flour
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup walnuts (optional)
- grated rind half a lemon (optional)
Directions:
- In a mixer combine butter, sugar, eggs, vanilla and mix well then add bananas and sour cream.
- Add remaining ingredients, mix well.
- Pour into greased loaf pan (9"), bake at 350 degrees for an hour or until toothpick is clean
